Role Summary:

The Director, Procurement will be responsible for managing the source to pay operations.  The objective is to ensure Dyne is routinely sourcing and negotiating its external spend following a standard and efficient process.  Initially, the role will be to create and manage a standard process with the help of a third-party managed service provider (MSP).  Over time, the role will evolve to include any one or more of the following: integration of the sourcing process with internal systems (eg, Contracts, ERP, Visualization Softwares, etc.), administration of a procurement policy, management reporting and dashboards, and training.

This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being a remote role.
 
Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish and manage a standard sourcing and contract negotiations process
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to build and manage a pipeline of sourcing initiatives
  • Own the relationship with the MSP, achieving high-quality service levels and internal stakeholder satisfaction
  • Continuously improve the sourcing process to achieve industry standard return on investment
  • Create and publish routinely a set of procurement metrics
  • Provide training to the organization, as required
  • Create and manage a procurement policy, including periodic auditing and compliance
  • Manage subscriptions and software service providers, in partnership with IT
  • Support Corporate Social Responsibility and external reporting obligations, as required

Education and Skills Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 10 years purchasing/procurement experience in the biotech/pharma industry
  • Experience with ERP / MRP / Procurement systems, processes and tools is a must
  • Previous experience of working in a global business with matrix management
  • Must be a self-starter and highly organized
  • Excellent planning, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to develop accurate and timely reports, presentations and metrics
