Role Summary: 

The bioconjugation co-op supports the bioconjugation of oligonucleotides and proteins for FORCE platform development to advance Dyne research. This role is wet-lab based and involves collaborations to work closely with scientists in cross-functional drug discovery teams. This person will participate and learn the bioconjugation process of antibody-oligonucleotide conjugates and the related biochemical assays for drug discovery and development projects. The student is expected to be highly motivated and passionate about antibody-oligonucleotide drug discovery and adopt to fast pace dynamic environment.   

This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being remote. This is a 6-month position beginning in July.   

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

  • Conduct and support biochemical assays for conjugates in bioconjugation processes, such as mass spectrometry, HPLC, SDS-PAGE, ELISA, BCA, and UV-vis, etc.   
  • Learn about the bioconjugation and purification of oligonucleotide-protein conjugates and gain hand-on experience on multi-step conjugation process  
  • Learn the process of early drug discovery with the FORCE platform through collaboration with Platform Development or cross-functional teams and support the innovations of FORCE platforms  
  • Analyze, report, and present experimental data to the Platform Development team (or collaborator teams if needed) under supervision 
  • Support lab maintenance and document technical reports on electronic lab notebook (ELN) 

 

Education and Skills Requirements: 

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or related disciplines 
  • Basic understanding of biochemical assays such as ELISA, UV-vis, gel electrophoresis, liquid chromatography 
  • Prior hands-on experience in wet chemistry and basic understanding of oligo and/or protein science   
  • Strong knowledge on Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word   
  • Experience on analytical chemistry is highly preferred 
  • Experience on data analysis software applications, such as Origin and GraphPad Prism, is preferred 
  • Excellent oral and written skills as well as time management skills
