Role Summary: 

This Pipeline Expansion Co-Op will be an integral part of the Neuromuscular Research team member of pipeline expansion team and will have the opportunity to be trained in a variety of lab techniques and drug discovery processes. The Co-Op will contribute to research projects tackling in vitro and in vivo model characterization and therapeutical compound selection. The individual will have the opportunity to learn and obtain hands-on experience on key aspects of discovery research in an intellectually stimulating environment. 

 
This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being remote. This is a 6-month position beginning in July.  
  

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

  • The individual will contribute to the execution of the research plans for in vitro/in vivo studies with various bioanalytical methods including qRT-PCR and ELISA 
  • Participate in the design and execution of experiments to test the efficacy of drug candidates 
  • Diligently maintaining accurate and clear records of experimental work 
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality results  
  • Analysis of data and communicating findings to team members 
  • Follow general laboratory safety procedures, as related to biologically derived materials 
  • Present research findings at departmental and company-wide meetings 

 

Education and Skills Requirements: 

  • Undergraduate or Graduate student currently pursuing a degree in biology or neuroscience discipline 
  • Previous hands-on experience in tissue culture is desired  
  • Self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic 
  • Exceptional attention to details and organizational skills  
  • Excellent communication skills and diligent with record keeping 
  • Knowledge of software applications such as Prism, Excel, and PowerPoint
