Role Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Dyne Therapeutics Histology and Microscopy team group located in Waltham, MA. The successful candidate will work in a team-oriented environment on multiple projects. The candidate will be working in a preclinical histology laboratory with a focus on non-human tissues and cells.  They will be involved in both routine and specialized histology techniques utilizing paraffin, frozen and plastic embedding mediums.  In addition, the individual should be detail oriented as they will be involved in reagent preparation, documentation and troubleshooting. The right candidate will become an integral part of a fast-paced histology lab supporting a dynamic range of research programs at Dyne. 

This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being a remote role. Applicants must be able to relocate to the area.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Paraffin, plastic and frozen processing and microtomy
  • Routine and histochemical staining both automated and manual
  • Develop and troubleshoot new histochemical assays as needed
  • Comply with written protocols, documentation requirements and safety policies
  • Use and maintain histology lab equipment
  • Prepare high quality images to support scientific presentations and publications

Education and Skills Requirements:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in life science or related discipline is required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a histology lab, working with both human and non-human sourced materials
  • Histotechnician or Histotechnologist Certification
  • Proficiency with tissue collection/necropsy is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience processing methyl methacrylate is preferred
  • Image analysis and immunohistochemistry experience is a plus
